The Throne
The Throne by Royal Hound is made of industrial-strength fiberglass and comes with a grate and easily removable polyurethane catch tray within its sturdy UV-stabilized ABS frame that is resistant to fluids, chemicals, fading, cracking and yellowing.
This product comes with a thick, lush, easy-to-clean synthetic grass designed so that waist immediately runs through to the tray below (the tray pulls out for easy cleaning). Replacement grass is sold separately.
The Throne is almond color and comes in multiple sizes (Joker 22”x27”x7”, Queen 34”x34”x7”, and King 40”x50”x7”) to accommodate up to 200 lbs.
Good idea, poor execution. Needs some fine tuning.
Synthetic grass has a drain hole only every 6 square inches at best. This means the grass retains the liquid waste much longer than advertised. Lack of holes also causes liquid waste to run down the inside edge of the frame, and not through the drain holes. This causes the frame corners that have panel separation between the corners to retain and eventually leak the liquid waste from the bottom of the unit, making the surface underneath disgusting.
No chance the makers of this item did any “extensive” testing. Product would work as advertised only if your dog pee’d right smack in the center of the throne every time. If your dog pee’d off-center, you’d have bigger mess cleaning under this throne from all the leaking that you would using an ordinary pad and pad holder.
Thanks for the feedback. I’ve seen it but not used it. The construction is good.
